Lodi California Old Vine Zinfandel

The grape source for the 2006 95240 Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel is a 50-year-old, head-trained vineyard situated north of Lodi and a few miles east of the Delta; close enough to experience cool breezes at night, but far enough away to bask in full sun and hot - but not too hot - temperatures during the day. Grapes were picked at optimal ripeness and fermented at relatively warm temperatures for opulent fruit character. After pressing, the young wine spent several months in seasoned oak barrels to gain smoothness and complexity.
