Intense blueberry, blackberry, licorice and spice
dominate the forward aromas and full-bodied flavors of
this superb California Port. True to its inspiration,
it combines fruit, sweetness, structure and “grip” (a
bit heat from the brandy) in a style that encourages
both winter savoring and chilled summer sipping.
Already delicious, Benson Ferry Port should develop
beautifully in the cellar, if the lucky buyer can
resist the temptation to open it! |

The 2006 95240 Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel's fresh, opulent
aroma showcases ripe plum and blueberry fruit along with
a hint of cedar. Medium-bodied blackberry and blueberry
flavors are complemented by delicate spice complexity
and a smooth, silky finish.

Full, forward
aromas of black fruit, red fruit and smoke
brim from the glass. Flavors are similarly
full and forward; a mouth filling mélange of
jammy blueberry and loganberry, accented by
subtle cinnamon and nutmeg nuances. While big
in flavor, the 2006 Nine x Nine shows polish
on the palate, with supple texture and a
deftly balanced, delicate finish.

Our garnet colored Pinot Noir
from the Clarksburg appellation has a supple strength
of its Pinot Noir tannin structure, yet at the same
time it is light, crisp and bright in the mouth and in
its finish. The aromas of sour cherries, cranberries
and just a hint of smokey herbs lead to mouth filling
flavors and tannins that complete with a lingering
sweetness in the aftertaste. Perfect for lighter foods
such as chicken and fish it can also match well to
grilled sausages or barbequed ribs.

Our wine really demonstrates
those classic Lodi Zinfandel aromas of fresh
blackberry jam, vanilla, black pepper and
spices. In your mouth you taste the sweet ripe
fruit flavors balanced with just a hint of
tartness. The wine finishes with a firm tannin
texture and a warm linger as one taste leads
to the next.
We think our Zinfandel is
wonderful just to sip all by itself, but you
might also try it the traditional “Lodi” way
with some good friends and good conversation
while eating barbequed sausage, pasta, or
pizza.

The 2010 Benson Ferry Pinot
Gris features fresh pineapple, kiwi, lime and
honeysuckle aromas and flavors. Deliciously
bright and light on the palate, this dry white
wine has a clean, crisp finish that invites
second (and third) glasses. Delightful all by
itself, it also pairs well with a wide variety
of casual fare.
